What is NPC Chronicles?

Give your NPCs voices by professional voice actors!

NPC Chronicles is a digital soundboard software for fantasy-themed tabletop role-playing games that provides hundreds of exciting, dynamic, and versatile voiced dialogues to enhance your gaming experience like never before!

Let's face it: for many people (whether they're players or GMs), one of the most difficult or awkward parts of tabletop roleplaying is trying to give their characters an authentic, consistent voice while they play. But now there's a solution to that problem: NPC Chronicles gives you hundreds of different character dialogues in a variety of different voices so you'll be able to focus on having fun with your gaming group instead of worrying about trying to stay in character!

Who are behind this project?

This is a collaborative project, with two professional voice actors, Adam Schneider and Rae Ford (USA) and the software developer from Tabletopy, Max (France).

Is there a mobile version of NPC Chronicles I could use?

No, the software has very extensive functionality. We didn't want to limit ourselves, so we chose the PC/macOS development over Android/iPhone.

Does the license allow for commecrial use?

The sound license does not allow commercial broadcasting - our software is intended only for gaming purposes, while playing online or live. Users are not authorized to train AI voice replicas of the dialogues.

Can I use it for online sessions?

Yes, you can check out the instructions here: How to stream sounds to your online players

When will we release the full version?

Assuming we reach our funding targets, NPC Chronicles will be released in October.

Are there any AI in the recordings?

No, all the dialogues in the soundboard (which are its core function) were written and performed by our voice actors, and the coding of the software was done without any AI. The character images were created with the assistance of AI tools with post-editing.

Can I install it on my second computer?

Yes, you can use it on all PCs you own and personally control.

Do you have a roadmap?
